ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Lawrence University men’s cross country standout Josh Janusiak led all Midwest Conference finishers Friday by taking 15th place at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational.
The sophomore from South Milwaukee, Wis., all league finishers and covered the 8,000 meters at Saukie Golf Course in a very fast 25:55.6, the fastest time in the conference this season. Brett Harms of UW-Whitewater was the winner in 25:08.2.
Lawrence rookie Joe Kortenhof also turned in an impressive performance by taking 23rd in 26:08.3. Led by Janusiak and Kortenhof, Lawrence took 18th with 414 points.
Rounding out the scoring for the Vikings were Ben Schaefer in 106th (27:40.0), Max Edwards in 132nd (28:34.6) and Alec Time in 138th (29:19.8).
On the women’s side, Lawrence was 20th with 489 points. The top finishers were Erin Schrobilgen and Hannah Kinzer. Schrobilgen took 65th and finished the 6,000 meters in 24:36.2. Kinzer was 68th in 24:44.0.
Completing the scoring for the Vikings were Christina Sedall in 102nd (25:24.0), Margaret Huck in 107th (25:26.9) and Molly Doruska in 147th (26:48.5).
