Tenth-ranked Pointers top Lawrence in straight sets

APPLETON, Wis. — The tenth-ranked UW-Stevens Point volleyball team was as good as advertised on Wednesday night and topped Lawrence University 3-0 in a nonconference match at Alexander Gymnasium.

Stevens Point (10-0) won the match, which was part of the Lawrence Quad, 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.

Ellen Drewry and Kelly Cefalu led Stevens Point with 11 kills apiece, and Abby Majercik piled up 33 assists.

Arianna Neumeyer paced the Vikings (4-6) with seven kills and shared top honors with 14 digs. Cyra Bammer also had 14 digs for the Vikings.

Liz Arco added five kills, and Lauren Ray and Sydney Nelson split the assists. Ray led the Vikings with 11 and Nelson had 10.
