APPLETON, Wis. — Another big Saturday of home events highlights the week for Lawrence University athletics as the Vikings host a tripleheader on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl. Lawrence football hosts Beloit College, followed by men’s and women’s soccer both taking on Lake Forest College on Saturday.

Fast Fact: Junior setter Sydney Nelson set a pair of career highs in Lawrence’s 3-1 win over MSOE this past Saturday. Nelson picked up a career-high 11 kills and handed out 27 assists, which was a career-best for a four-set match.

Fast Fact: Lawrence is looking to keep its winning streak alive against Ripon. The Vikings have defeated Ripon 12 consecutive times, and that streak dates back to the 2004 season. Lawrence coach Steve Francour returns to his alma mater on Sunday to face UW-Oshkosh. Francour coached the Titans for 23 seasons before coming to Lawrence in July 2013.

Fast Fact: Lawrence put together a split of its opening two Midwest Conference matches last weekend. The Vikings had a four-goal outburst in a win over Illinois College on Sunday with Jack Blodgett picking up his team-best fourth goal of the season.

Fast Fact: Lawrence rookie Terrell Myers Jr., earned Midwest Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors after returning a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown against Illinois College. It tied the longest kickoff return in a Midwest Conference game and is the second longest in Lawrence history, eclipsed only by Scott Reppert’s 102-yard return vs. UW-Oshkosh in 1982.
