PLYMOUTH, Wis. — Mike Deremo scored a pair of goals Tuesday, and the Lawrence University men’s soccer team downed Lakeland University 3-2 in a nonconference match at Muskie Soccer Field.
Deremo had two goals and an assist in the first half as Lawrence (4-7-0) built a 3-0 lead at the break.
Lawrence sophomore Taylor Reifert got the scoring started when he scored off an assist from Deremo at the 16:06 mark.
The Vikings made it 2-0 when Deremo scored off an assist from Keanan Wilson at the 23:50 mark. Deremo scored again for a 3-0 advantage at 35:25 as Jack Blodgett and Lewis Berger both collected assists.
Lakeland got on the board with a penalty kick in the 58th minute, and the Muskies added another goal in the 73rd minute to cut the margin to 3-2.
Lawrence goalkeeper Robert Meiser made four saves to pick up the win. Thomis Mannebach made seven saves for the Muskies (2-10-0).
