CLERMONT, Fla. — The North Park University softball team rallied Friday for a 7-4 nonconference victory over Lawrence University.
North Park (1-8) scored the final five runs of the game to rally from a 4-2 deficit.
Ellie Manderfeld went 3-for-4 and Kelly Rosenbaum was 2-for-4 and drove in three runs for North Park. Amara Leith went the distance to pick up the victory. She allowed five hits, struck out three and walked two.
Emilia Jackson took the loss in first collegiate start for Lawrence (0-2). She gave up nine hits and six runs, only three earned, in 3.2 innings. He struck out four and walked one.
Madeline MacLean, who worked 2.1 innings of relief, went 2-for-3 for Lawrence, and Amanda Karnatz’s first collegiate hit was a three-run triple.
Lawrence trailed 2-1 with the bases loaded in the second when Karnatz drove in all three runs with a triple and a 4-2 lead.
Lawrence then gave up an unearned run in the bottom half of the inning and three more runs in the fourth, including two on Rosenbaum’s single. North Park added an insurance run in the sixth.
