Lawrence University men’s soccer standout Stephen Exarhos has been named the Midwest
Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Exarhos (Richland, Wash./Hanford) picked up the honor, the first of his career, after scoring two goals and adding an assist as Lawrence swept a pair of Midwest Conference games this past weekend.
In a 3-2 overtime victory over Illinois College on Sunday, Exarhos scored the game-winning goal 3:21 into overtime when he blasted a shot from just inside the penalty box to break the 2-2 tie. Exarhos, a junior forward, also scored on a brilliant header at the 15:19 off a free kick from Hashim Allah-Morad.
In a 3-0 victory over Monmouth College on Saturday, Exarhos provided the assist on the first goal of the game, which proved to be the game-winner.
Exarhos now has three goals and five assists for 11 points this season. He has scored three goals on just seven shots on goal this season.
The two victories improved Lawrence’s record to 8-5-1, 5-2-0 in the Midwest Conference.
