Green Knights edge Vikings 5-4

The St. Norbert College men’s tennis team won four of the six singles matches to pull out a 5-4 Midwest Conference victory on Sunday at the Lawrence Courts.

Lawrence led 2-1 after the doubles competition as Jason Dunn and Max Zlevor won at No. 1 and Roy Wimer and Bile Ali won at No. 3. The Vikings also took the top two singles matches, with Dunn winning at No. 1 and Caleb Ray rallying for a victory at No. 2. But St. Norbert swept the Nos. 3-6 singles to win the match.

Vikings rout Ripon 9-0

The Lawrence University men’s tennis team continued its recent mastery of Ripon College with a 9-0 Midwest Conference victory over the Red Hawks at the Fox Cities Racquet Club on Saturday.

Lawrence (6-12, 2-1 MWC) has now beaten Ripon 9-0 for three consecutive seasons. Ripon (1-10, 1-3 MWC) hasn’t won a match against the Vikings since the 2008 season.

The Vikings dropped only one set en route to the shutout victory. Caleb Ray put on a dominating performance for the second consecutive day as he posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles.

Vikings rout Illinois College

The Lawrence University men’s tennis team routed Illinois College 9-0 in a nonconference match on Friday at the Lawrence Courts.

The Vikings (5-12) did not drop a set on their way to the shutout victory. Caleb Ray posted the most impressive victory of the day with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. He also teamed with Jeremy Andereck for a victory at No. 2 doubles.

Freshman Bile Ali earned his first collegiate singles victory with a 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6.

Saturday’s baseball doubleheader, men’s tennis match postponed

Saturday’s baseball doubleheader, which had been scheduled to be played at St. Norbert College, has been postponed due to wet field conditions. Lawrence will now play at St. Norbert at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence will host St. Norbert in a doubleheader at Whiting Field on Monday at 1 p.m.

Saturday’s men’s tennis match vs. Ripon College also has been postponed. The match has been rescheduled for April 30 at 2 p.m. on the Lawrence Courts.

Vikings edged by Carroll

NEW BERLIN, Wis. — The Carroll University men’s tennis team posted a 6-3 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University on Sunday. The Vikings posted wins by Jason Dunn and No. 1 singles and Caleb Ray at No. 2 singles and picked up a win at No. 2 doubles.

Vikings sweep doubles en route to victory over Knox

GALESBURG, Ill. — The Lawrence University men’s tennis team swept the doubles matches en route to a 6-3 nonconference victory over Knox College on Sunday.

Jason Dunn and Max Zlevor posted an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles, Caleb Ray and Jeremy Andereck were 8-1 winners at No. 2 and Roy Wimer and Bile Ali posted an 8-4 victory at No. 3.

Ray and Andereck posted straight-set wins at Nos. 2 and 4 singles, respectively, and Dunn also rallied for a 2-6, 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.
