ORLANDO, Fla. — The Lawrence University women’s tennis team dropped a 5-4 nonconference decision to Colorado College on Monday.
Lawrence (8-8) trailed 2-1 after the doubles competition, but the Vikings did pick up a win at No. 1. Christina Schaupp and Jennifer Roesch teamed up for an 8-4 victory over Mary Erdman and Katie Patterson.
Schaupp also earned a 7-6, (7-4), 6-3 win over Erdman at No. 1 singles. Lawrence’s Ali Heiring beat Maddy Bush 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (12-10) at No. 3, and Brenna Decker downed Rachel Severson 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6.
The Tigers (3-4) got singles wins at Nos. 2, 4 and 5, including a win at No. 4 that went to a super tiebreaker, to pull out the match victory.
