Waiting for summer

Although this might be really early, but I am desperately waiting for the summer. The cool breeze, no sweaters, flip flops, afternoon walks and just being able to sit out and be lazy under the sun. For someone like me who comes from a country of REALLY warm summers, you can imagine how spoiled I am (when I say warm, I mean REALLY warm). Sometimes it gets really frustrating as I am walking to dinner in the freezing cold. I often wonder, why my face is hurting and why there is water coming out of my eyes for no reason. In all, I have not made peace with the winter in Appleton.

I love snow. I love how the little snowflakes make their way from the sky to earth and turn the place to a winter wonderland. I love the idea of curling myself in a blanket like a burrito and sleep through the morning. And hot chocolate. Yum. But what I don’t like is when it gets icy or when the wind gets too strong. It’s almost scary now that I think about all those times that I had to walk through a rough weather. I don’t think I am the only one who feels this way.

I have discovered different ways to cope up with this inevitable weather. Layering up is my best friend and when I think of the fact that there are so many other who are going through the same thing as me, it gives me courage to face the harsh winters here. It’s difficult, but I know I will get through it. And once this is over, the sunny are going to come back and I will lose myself in the beauty of spring pretty soon.

So I have been planning on adding to the blog post above and talk about how I am waiting for summer to come. However, something miraculous happened. The snow is melting! The sun is shining! Its 40 degrees outside! I don’t know how it happened or why it happened, but I am loving this. Although I hate the messy, dirty melted ice on the sidewalk, I can’t wait for it to all go away. The grass is going to turn green, people are going to sit outside and taking long walks will become a thing again.

Just when you start feeling low because of the weather, it turned beautiful to please you. Nature has its own tricks and treats and you surely can fall in love with all of them!
