STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The No. 3 UW-Stevens Point hockey team scored five consecutive goals in the second and third periods and rolled to a 9-2 nonconference win over Lawrence University on Friday night at Willett Arena.
Lawrence (4-7-1) trailed 2-1 heading into the second period when the Pointers (10-1-0) scored three goals in the second period and added two more early in the third to take command.
Scott Heneger scored two goals for Stevens Point, and Nick D’Avlio added a goal and two assists.
Ryan Eardley scored in the first period for the Vikings, and Paul Zuke picked up a goal in the third period. Gustav Lindgren assisted on both goals for Lawrence.
Anton Olsson played the first 27 minutes in goal for Lawrence and took the loss. Spencer Viele made 11 saves to pick up the win for Stevens Point.
