GREEN BAY, Wis. — Rookie Erin Schrobilgen raced to fifth place to pace the Lawrence University cross country teams in her collegiate debut on Saturday at the St. Norbert College Tom Barry Invitational.
Schrobilgen covered the 5,000-meter course at Colburn Park in 20:02.8.
Paced by Schrobilgen, the Lawrence women placed third in the team standings with 78 points. St. Norbert won the title with 30 points.
The Lawrence women were tightly bunched as Clare Bruning (13th), Liz Landes (19th), Amy Hutchings (20th) and Elin Karlsson (21st) rounded out the scoring.
The Lawrence men finished sixth with 147 points. St. Norbert won the title with 65 points.
Sophomore and Appleton native Max Edwards, running his first race for Lawrence, was the Vikings’ top finisher. Edwards placed 17th and covered the four miles in 22:24.1.
Also scoring for Lawrence were Jonah Laursen (26th), Kyle Dockery (29th), Cam Davies (34th) and Teddy Kortenhof (41st).
