APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University men’s soccer team scored three second-half goals to post a 3-0 Midwest Conference win over Beloit College on Saturday at Whiting Field West.
Joe Cullen, Lewis Berger and Santiago Alvarez all scored for the Vikings (2-11-3, 2-6-2 MWC).
After pressuring the Bucs (2-13-0, 2-6-0) throughout the first half, Lawrence finally broke through 18 minutes into the second half. Cullen pounded in a ball from point-blank range off assists from Sodai Ishii and Mike Deremo at the 63:32 mark for a 1-0 lead.
Just under 10 minutes later, Lewis Berger picked up his first career goal off Nick Huth’s rebound to put Lawrence up 2-0 at 73:13. The Vikings sealed the victory on Santiago Alvarez’s goal off a pass from Dominic Pasquesi at 77:06.
Lawrence goalkeeper Joe Krivit made one save to pick up the shutout. BJ Kiser stopped 11 shots for Beloit.
Lawrence had a 24-2 edge in shots.
