APPLETON, Wis. — Lawrence University men’s soccer standouts Stephen Salansky and Cameron Pieper have been chosen for the All-Midwest Conference team in a vote of league coaches.
Salansky (Parker, Colo./Legend) and Pieper (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac) were both chosen for the second team.
This is the third consecutive selection for Salansky, a senior defender who was s second-team pick in 2013 and a first-team selection in 2012. Salansky didn’t collect a point this season but his impact on the team was enormous as he controlled the center of the field. He led a defense that posted three shutouts and allowed one or fewer goals in 12 of 18 games.
Pieper, a senior forward, was chosen for the all-conference team for the first time. Pieper made a very successful return from a knee injury that forced him to miss nearly all of the 2013 season. Pieper led the team with six goals and picked up a pair of assists for 14 points. In 10 conference games, Pieper scored three goals and had two assists.
Lawrence finished with a 4-11-3 overall record and was 2-6-2 in Midwest Conference play.
