SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Lawrence University women’s soccer standout Ryan Berkley scored in the eighth minute, and the Vikings made that stand up in a 1-0 nonconference win over Lakeland University on Wednesday.
The short-handed Vikings played the second half down two players because of injury and still managed to pull out the win.
Berkley scored her first goal of the season at the 7:35 mark off an assist from Mari Hubanks.
Lawrence goalkeeper Kori Looker made three saves to record her first career shutout. Karisa Rowland made three saves in 64 minutes of action before being relieved.
The Vikings had a 14-12 edge in shots and improved to 9-0 all-time against Lakeland.
