APPLETON, Wis. — Lawrence University cross country star Josh Janusiak earned Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honors after the fastest race in the league this fall.
Janusiak (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) turned in the fastest time over 8,000 meters in the Midwest Conference this season at last Friday’s Brissman-Lundeen Invitational in Rock Island, Ill.
Running in oppressive heat and humidity, Janusiak finished 15th after covering the 8,000 meters at Saukie Golf Course in 25:55.6. That is the fastest time in the league by five seconds. Led by Janusiak, Lawrence finished 18th in the team standings.
This marks the second time in his career that Janusiak has been selected as the conference Performer of the Week. He also was honored as a freshman in 2015.
Lawrence is back in action on Oct. 8 when it hosts the Gene Davis Invitational at Reid Golf Course in Appleton. The first race begins at 10 a.m.
