APPLETON, Wis. — The Cornell College men’s soccer team took advantage of a momentary lapse and used that to carve out a 1-0 Midwest Conference win over Lawrence University on Sunday at Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
Lawrence (2-12-1, 1-6-0 MWC) put together a 15-8 advantage in shots and dominated long stretches of play against the Rams (3-12-0, 1-7-0). However, the Vikings gave Cornell an opening, and Carlos Tellez scored off a pass from Mason Wicker at 74:41 for the game’s lone goal.
Jerome Richards made several key saves and finished with six saves to pick up the shutout for Cornell. Joe Krivit made three saves for the Vikings.
