Women’s soccer match with North Park rescheduled for Oct. 21

APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University women’s soccer match with North Park University has been rescheduled for next month.

The match, originally set to be played Saturday, is now on for Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Lawrence returns to action on Sunday when it travels to UW-Stevens Point for a nonconference match. Sunday’s match begins at 2 p.m.

Berkley’s goal lifts Vikings to 1-0 win over Lakeland

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Lawrence University women’s soccer standout Ryan Berkley scored in the eighth minute, and the Vikings made that stand up in a 1-0 nonconference win over Lakeland University on Wednesday.

The short-handed Vikings played the second half down two players because of injury and still managed to pull out the win.

Berkley scored her first goal of the season at the 7:35 mark off an assist from Mari Hubanks.

Lawrence goalkeeper Kori Looker made three saves to record her first career shutout. Karisa Rowland made three saves in 64 minutes of action before being relieved.

The Vikings had a 14-12 edge in shots and improved to 9-0 all-time against Lakeland.

APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University volleyball team opens the home portion of its schedule on Wednesday by hosting a pair of highly touted opponents. UW-Stevens Point enters Wednesday’s match at Alexander Gymnasium ranked 15th, and Oshkosh is just out of the top 25.

Coe shuts out Lawrence women’s soccer

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Two Coe College women’s soccer players scored two goals apiece Sunday to lead the Kohawks to a 5-0 nonconference victory over Lawrence University.

The match was part of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest Showcase.

Gabby Lancial scored the game’s first goal at the 16:04 mark and picked up the contest’s final goal in the 54th minute. Kelsey Fauser put the Kohawks up 2-0 with a goal at 28:01 and made it 4-0 with a goal at 51:38.

Two Coe goalies each played a half and were not forced to make a save to record the shutout.

Three Macalester players score two goals apiece in win over Vikings

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Three Macalester College women’s soccer players scored two goals apiece as the Scots topped Lawrence University 9-0 in a nonconference match Saturday at Lake Forest College.

The game was part of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest Showcase.

Elizabeth Han, Eliza Neidhart and Quinn Rafferty all scored twice to pace Macalester.

Rachel Stromsta made one save to pick up the shutout.

Lawrence women’s soccer match at Marian postponed

APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University women’s soccer match at Marian University scheduled for tonight (Wednesday) has been postponed.

Extremely wet field conditions at Marian forced the postponement. No make-up date has been set.

The Vikings return to action on Saturday and Sunday when Lawrence faces Macalester College and Coe College at the ACM Soccer Showcase at Lake Forest College.

Carthage topples Vikings

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Carthage College women’s soccer team scored three times in the first 32 minutes and went on to a 4-0 nonconference victory over Lawrence University on Friday.

The match was played at California Lutheran University.

Carthage’s Lauren Szumski put her team ahead 1-0 at the 9:36 mark. Samantha Sisto scored at 22:25, and Amy Kappelman scored at 31:59 to give Carthage a 3-0 lead at the break.

Carthage piled up a 36-3 edge in shots, and Emily Furmanek made one save to record the shutout.

Lawrence wraps up its trip to California with a match against Redlands on Saturday.
