DE PERE, Wis. — The St. Norbert College women’s soccer team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back en route to a 5-0 Midwest Conference win over Lawrence University at Schneider Stadium.
Ellie Lochner scored two goals in the first two minutes to get St. Norbert (7-4-1, 3-1-1 MWC) off to a fast start. The Green Knights led 4-0 at the half and added a second-half goal to complete the scoring.
Two St. Norbert goalkeepers combined to make five saves for the shutout.

The “Immaculate Deflection” game saw the winning touchdown scored by the Vikings in the final seconds when a pass deflected off the shoulder pads of Zach Michael into the waiting arms of Chris McGinley in the end zone.
Fast Fact: Lawrence rushed for 348 yards in a 36-22 win over Beloit, and that is the most yards gained on the ground by the Vikings since a 2006 win over Grinnell. Lawrence also had two 100-yard rushers in quarterback Ryan Butterfield and running back Wasonu Allen. Butterfield ripped off an 82-yard touchdown run, the second-longest run play in Lawrence history.
APPLETON, Wis. — The Lake Forest College women’s soccer team overcame an early deficit Saturday and pulled away for a 5-2 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
Greta Fritz scored her first career goal in the eighth minute to give the Vikings (1-8-0, 0-3-0 MWC) an early 1-0 lead.
Lake Forest (6-4-1, 2-1-1) evened the score on Kyle Chavarria’s goal at 32:50 and then took the lead on Lindsay Hartup’s goal three minutes later.
The Vikings battled back to tie it at 2-2 on Ryan Berkley’s goal at 40:22 with Fritz picking up the assist.
Lake Forest took the lead for good at 3-2 on Mimi Vaintrub’s goal with just 1:25 left in the first half. The Foresters then clamped down on defense and allowed Lawrence just one shot in the second half.
Emma Byrne and Vaintrub both scored in the second half to seal the win for the Foresters.
Rachel Tenuta made four saves in the first half to get the win for Lake Forest. Kori Looker stopped 15 shots for the Vikings.

APPLETON, Wis. — Kaylen Sims scored a pair of second-half goals Sunday to lead the Illinois College women’s soccer team to a 4-0 win over Lawrence University on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
Illinois College (5-3-0, 2-1-0 MWC) led 2-0 when Sims scored in rapid succession early in the second half. Sims scored at 47:09 and again at 47:50 to give the Lady Blues a 4-0 lead. Ally Kjellander picked up a goal and an assist for Illinois College in the first half.
Charlotte Crofton made four saves to pick up the shutout for the Lady Blues. Kori Looker made 10 saves for the Vikings (1-7-0, 0-2-0).
Due to multiple injuries the Vikings were forced to play with only nine players in the field.
APPLETON, Wis. — Yvette Rodriguez picked up a hat trick Saturday as the Knox College women’s soccer team defeated Lawrence University 8-0 in a Midwest Conference game on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
Rodriguez scored back-to-back goals in the first half and added another tally in the second half to lead Knox (9-0-1, 1-0-0 MWC). Alex Robertson also scored twice for the Prairie Fire, which defeated Lawrence (1-6-0, 0-1-0) for only the second time in 22 tries.
Sierra Daniger made two saves to pick up the shutout. Kori Looker stopped 20 shots for the Vikings. Knox had a 42-6 edge in shots.
APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University women’s soccer match with UW-Platteville scheduled for Wednesday (Sept. 21) has been postponed.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected by early evening and will run through the evening. No reschedule date has been set.
The Vikings return to action this weekend when they open Midwest Conference play with a pair of matches. Lawrence faces Knox College on Saturday and Illinois College on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
