First ever Tour of Gravestones of Lawrentians Buried at Riverside Cemetery

This tour of Riverside Cemetery, the oldest cemetery in Appleton, will take place on Sunday, October 4, starting at 3pm. Riverside is located at 714 N. Owaissa Street, about a half mile away from campus, and we’ll meet at the front entrance. This is a walking tour so wear comfortable shoes.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to the Mudd! We hope you had a good summer and are looking forward to a productive (and fun) fall term. We start regular hours this week and look forward to seeing you here.

The Mudd Goes to the Dogs

The Mudd hosted a Canine Therapy Study Break on Tuesday, June 9. Eight dogs and several dozen students got together for a mutually-fulfilling hour of fun and dog treats. Photos of the event are available on the Library’s Flickr site.

The last day to submit ILL requests for the term is Tuesday, May 26 Any requests submitted after this date will need to be approved in advance.

You may request renewals for ILL materials you have out, but no items will be allowed to be kept past Monday, June 8.

Listen to Lawrence’s talented poets and writers and have the opportunity to share your favorite poetry. Celebrate National Library Week and National Poetry Month simultaneously!

Presentation by Peter Gilbert 2:00 pm, south end of the reference section

The library: “Arranged with taste, preserved with neatness, and classified with order.”

The librarian: “Affable, accommodating and possessed of all knowledge.”

The students: “have access to the Library, once a week, either on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays.”

Sounds like it could be today – but it’s actually 1890.

Harken back to the turn of an altogether different century with a fascinating look at the library of the past with our University Librarian.

Video Game Tournament & Game Day 1:00-4:00 pm

Participate in a /Super Smash Brothers Brawl /tournament or play one of our fun board games in the Mudd. Sign up for the tournament by 3 pm on Friday at the Interlibrary Loan Office. All skill levels invited, prizes will be awarded.
