APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University vs. St. Norbert College men’s soccer match scheduled for Wednesday has been moved to a new site. Due to a soggy Whiting Field West, the game will be played at the USA Youth Sports Complex, 3300 E. Evergreen Drive, Appleton. The Midwest Conference match is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.

Late goal lifts Monmouth past Vikings
MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Monmouth College men’s soccer team got a goal with just 3:22 left to pull out a 1-0 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University on Saturday.
Chizobam Nkemeh scored off a pass from Max Daniels at the 86:38 mark to break the scoreless tie.
Luke Cogan made four saves to pick up the shutout for Monmouth (6-7-1, 4-1-1 MWC). Joe Krivit stopped four shots for Lawrence (1-9-2, 1-4-1).
Goal in first minute lifts Knox past Lawrence
APPLETON, Wis. — A goal just 23 seconds into the match on Sunday proved to be the difference as the Knox College men’s soccer team topped Lawrence University 1-0 in a Midwest Conference game at Whiting Field West.
Nathaniel Logie’s bending shot found the left corner of the net to give Knox the lead in the opening minute. That would be it for the scoring in a hard-fought match. Knox (9-2-0, 4-0-0 MWC) had nine shots, and Lawrence (1-8-2, 1-3-1) had seven shots.
Joe Krivit made six saves for the Vikings, and Sean Dockrell stopped three shots for the Prairie Fire.
Knox was forced to play most of the second half down one man as Jacob Polay was issued a red card in the 51st minute. Knox collected three other yellow cards. Lawrence received a pair of yellow cards.
Late goal lifts Illinois College past Lawrence
APPLETON, Wis. — The Illinois College men’s soccer team scored with less than four minutes left to grab a 1-0 Midwest Conference win over Lawrence University on Saturday at Whiting Field West.
A scramble in front of the net off a cross resulted in the game’s only goal at the 86:20 mark. Alex Gardner’s cross got past Lawrence goalkeeper Joe Krivit, and Jordan Blair was able to squeeze the ball into the net during a scramble in front of the goal.
Krivit made six saves, and Scott Workman wasn’t forced to make a save in recording the shutout.
Vikings roll to win at Ripon
RIPON, Wis. — Cameron Pieper scored twice to lead the Lawrence University men’s soccer team to a 4-1 Midwest Conference victory at Ripon College on Tuesday.
Erik Soderlund picked up a goal and an assist for Lawrence (1-6-2, 1-1-1 MWC).
Soderlund got the scoring started for the Vikings when he took a pass from Chris Kiehl and beat Ripon goalkeeper Cody Messerschmidt at the 6:16 mark. Pieper made it 2-0 when he scored off a pass from Soderlund at 25:45.
The score stayed that way until the 74th minute when Pieper scored again to give Lawrence a 3-0 edge. Santiago Alvarez capped the scoring for the Vikings when he scored just 43 seconds later for a 4-0 advantage.
Joe Krivit made three saves to pick up the win for Lawrence, which had a 23-5 edge in shots over the Red Hawks (2-8-1, 0-4-0).
Lawrence ties Foresters 1-1
APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University men’s soccer team battled to a 1-1 double-overtime tie with Lake Forest College in a Midwest Conference match on Saturday at Whiting Field West.
Lawrence (0-6-2, 0-1-1 MWC) jumped on top less than two minutes into the match when Joe Cullen scored off assists from Erik Soderlund and Cameron Pieper with just 1:56 gone. That lead stood up until Elyas Ingram scored for Lake Forest (2-6-1, 1-0-1) in the 69th minute.
Both teams had good scoring chances the rest of the way but neither could convert. Lake Forest had a 19-14 edge in shots. Joe Krivit stopped seven shots for Lawrence, and Ian Taylor made five saves for the Foresters.
Wisconsin Lutheran tops Vikings 2-1
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — A penalty kick early in the second half proved to be the difference as the Wisconsin Lutheran College men’s soccer team topped Lawrence University 2-1 in a nonconference match on Wednesday night.
The Warriors (6-4-0) got a penalty kick goal from Mavric Otterstatter at 58:23 to go up 2-0. Joe Cullen picked up his first goal of the season for the Vikings (0-6-1) when he scored off a pass from Mike Deremo at 63:38 to trim the margin to 2-1.
Wisconsin Lutheran had a 14-7 edge in shots, and Cedric Guichard made only one save for the Warriors. Joe Krivit stopped five shots for the Vikings.
Pioneers shut out Lawrence
WAUKESHA, Wis. — The Carroll University men’s soccer team scored two goals in a span of 1:17 in the second half to pull away for a 3-0 Midwest Conference win over Lawrence University on Saturday at Schneider Stadium.
Carroll (3-4-0, 1-0-0 MWC) led 1-0 at the half, but then scored twice at 52:23 and 53:40 to seal the victory. Tyler Coenen scored both of the goals in the second half for the Pioneers.
The Vikings (0-5-0, 0-1-0) were limited to just three shots on goal.
Lawrence, Edgewood play to scoreless tie
APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University men’s soccer team played to a 0-0 overtime tie with Edgewood College on Wednesday in a nonconference match at Whiting Field West.
The game was called after the first 10-minute overtime due to darkness.
Lawrence (0-4-1) owned a 24-10 edge in shots, including a 14-10 advantage in shots on goal. Joe Krivit made 10 saves for Lawrence, and Matt Dammen stopped 14 shots for the Eagles (2-3-1).
Both teams had some great chances in regulation, and Edgewood nearly won it on a scramble in front of the Lawrence goal before a Vikings defender headed the ball away from the goal line.
The Vikings had the better of it in the overtime, piling up five shots in 10 minutes. Max Loebel’s shot careened off the post, and Joe Cullen nearly got the next shot past Dammen. Mike Deremo also had a shot that missed just wide in the final minutes of the overtime.
Lawrence returns to action on Saturday when it opens Midwest Conference play at Carroll University.
Vikings fall to Lakeland in overtime heartbreaker
PLYMOUTH, Wis. — The Lakeland College men’s soccer team scored less than eight minutes into overtime to pull out a 1-0 nonconference victory over Lawrence University on Sunday.
Mirko Tadic scored off a cross from Brandon Barry at the 97:53 mark to give Lakeland (1-1-1) the victory.
Austin Ganzke made just one save to record the shutout. Shots were even at 6-6 in the match.
