Lawrence-Funded Internship Highlight: Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust

From now until the end of March, we will be highlighting various funds and summer internships available to students! Through the generous support of alumni and friends, Lawrence students are eligible to apply for funding to support summer internships or projects.

Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust

The Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust is a private, non-profit, member-supported conservation organization. Our mission is to preserve lands that protect waters, landscapes, and natural habitats for current and future generations. Founded in 1996, the Land Trust has protected over 65,000 acres and 36 miles of shoreline, safeguarding unique Wisconsin landscapes and habitats for wildlife like the Northern Pike, Karner blue butterfly, and several wolf packs. We actively manage five nature preserves open to the public while promoting community engagement and rigorous land stewardship. Learn more at newlt.org

The Land Stewardship, Communications & Data Development Intern will work closely with the Conservation Director and Communications Coordinator to support land stewardship, acquisition, marketing, and data development projects. This role provides hands-on experience in environmental conservation, database management, communications, and content creation, offering exposure to both technical and creative aspects of non-profit operations.

This internship is ideal for students eager to combine skills in environmental research, data management, and communications to amplify the mission and impact of the Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust.
