The Povolny Fund for Excellence honors the life and work of Mojmir Povolny, a long-time professor of Government and International Relations at Lawrence University. The Povolny Fund particularly wants to support student travel and other costs related to international experiences and we encourage students to plan ahead and apply here now.
Projects and programs vary, but can include support for internships and volunteer positions, and participation in seminars or conferences, study abroad, traveling classrooms (including D-term), film and arts festivals, and other activities. In the past, successful candidates have interned at the U. S. Embassy in Chile, volunteered with NGOs that conduct programs overseas, and did research relating to foreign investment in Africa.
Students can learn more and apply for this fund as well as all general funds here. Application deadline is March 5th.
