Welcome Week Programming – Help needed!

As we look to build out our Welcome Week schedule for fall 2024, we need your help!

We are looking to add programming for CAMPUS CONNECTION OPPORTUNITIES throughout the mornings in the not-required time frame (8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.) that applies to some students, but not all students. These sessions could be:

  • Informational
  • Social
  • Developmental
  • Community Building

Do you or your office/area want to HOST a programming session? Truly, the sky is the limit. If you or your office/area is interested in hosting a programming event during welcome week, please complete this form by Friday, June 14. Once this information is gathered, we’ll work to build out a schedule and work with your contact.

  • Tuesday (9/10)– Friday (9/13) will essentially have the same schedule with some slight modifications:
    • 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: NOT-REQUIRED time open for breakfast and lunch, athletic practices, conservatory auditions, placement testing, academic advising appointments, and other CAMPUS CONNECTION OPPORTUNITIES.
      • 1:30-5 p.m.: REQUIRED First-Year and Transfer Student programming coordinated by the First Year Experience in partnership with our Orientation Leaders and other campus partners.
      • 7–10 p.m.: NOT REQUIRED, BUT HIGHLY ENCOURAGED Social Programming supported by our Office of SEAL.
  • Saturday (9/14) will be a community day where we take students to the Appleton Farm Market, support our Athletic Teams at the Banta Bowl for comradery, giveaways, and food, then wrap up our evening with an all LU event on the Main Hall Green – Blu’s Bash (all students, faculty and staff are welcome.)
  • Sunday (9/15) will be a day of rest and connections culminating with the First-Year Dinner in the evening.
