Movement * Worship * Open House

Movement

Tai Chi begins on Monday, September 17th at 4:15 in Esch Hurvis.  Attend and enjoy this meditation in motion each Monday during term just before Yoga class for energy and connection. All are welcome.

Worship

Jumma prayer shuttles on Friday and hosts to local churches on Sunday.  Enjoy  community, enjoy environment, and connect IRL. Speak or be silent. Be present.

Open House – Take root in Fall term

These plants won’t solve your problems, but they clean the air around you, are great listeners that grow with your voice, invite compassion and a calming presence, and are easier to care for than you’d guess.  A natural reminder not to over-complicate or overthink. All are welcome.

Jumma and Ramadan

Ramadan Mubarak

During Ramadan it’s especially nice to be able to connect with community during Jumma, and continue the traditions of your faith.

There is space to pray at the Center for Spiritual and Religious Life, or we can connect you with Lawrentians that may be headed out to pray with the larger Muslim community.

Contact the Center for Spiritual and Religious Life for additional details.

Staff and faculty are welcome to join us for a fresh salad and/or soup plus great conversation.

No RSVP required. Sabin House Kitchen.  Noon to 1pm, May 25.

As we approach Ramadan

Ramadan is an important time of fasting, reflection and prayer for the Muslim community.  Lawrence will support the efforts of those in our community who are celebrating this special time and nourishing their practices.

Iftars at Sabin House will be hosted as a breaking of the fast, by invitation or accompaniment of an invited guest.  Additionally, Grab&Go food will be made available beginning Tuesday, May 15th for those who wish to plan ahead to break their fast.

We ask the respect of the community in not partaking in the offered Grab&Go food unless you are fasting during this time.

Assist your Muslim friends in support of their fasting and enhance your own interfaith vocabulary and understanding throughout Ramadan, which ends around June 14th.
