Want to see the sights of Appleton? Drive ten of your closest friends to Woodman’s? Learn shortcuts around town and make a competitive wage?

Apply to be a student driver!

We need a pool of drivers because many hands makes lighter work for all. Shifts can be flexible, and the work is easy!

Becoming a Lawrence approved driver is part of the process, but that’s a simple records check. Apply first, and you’re on your way. Students will be trained on the routes and expectations.

Parking Lottery

Students: Don’t forget to make sure you are signed up to participate in the Spring Term Parking Lottery. Your vehicle must be registered by Thursday of Week 9 (this Thursday) – March 2, and your interest in the parking lottery must be indicated by Monday, March 6. If you already have a registered vehicle, please do not re-register.

Check out the parking information here, and don’t forget to check out the section relating to Current Students at the bottom of the page. Good Luck!

Andrew Commons – Open to the Public

Just a reminder that as we learn to be an open campus again, students, staff, and faculty are welcome to bring their friends, family, and neighbors to Lawrence for mealtimes or coffee in Andrew Commons or the Café. Beyond the meal swipe, cashless payments are taken in both locations and the public is welcome.

Consider inviting your favorite people for communal mealtimes or a casual weekend brunch on campus.

Buses from Chicago and Minneapolis-End of Break

Worry just a bit less about how to get back to campus.

With travel beginning in Chicago and Minneapolis and additional stops happening at the midway points, you can sign up to come back to campus on March 27 in the comfort of a Lamers coach bus.

The cost is $30 and registration ends when the bus is full or by March 23, whichever happens first. Riders may take 2-3 large bags on the bus back. Both buses are actively gaining riders each day, so don’t delay in signing up.

Party For Curt Lauderdale-POSTPONED

Honoring the pledge means making adjustments.

Due to Orange status and the departure time of Curt to his new role, the official LU sendoff for Curt Lauderdale that was scheduled for January 11th has been postponed.

We encourage everyone to contribute to the Kudoboard. Several Lawrentians past and present already have. The Kudoboard will stay up for several weeks… but don’t wait to leave your message!

Access the Kudoboard here to leave a personalized note.

(Users can skip past leaving their email address as the software will inevitably ask.)

Save The Date-Saying ‘So Long’ to Curt Lauderdale, Dean of Students

We’ll be sharing best wishes, extending congratulations, and expressing gratitude for the many years of service and dedication. Please join with your fellow Lawrentians in wishing the best to Curt Lauderdale as he departs the Viking ship.

You are invited to save January 11, 2022 from 4pm-6pm to celebrate, show respect, share a memory, and help close a chapter within the dynamic Lawrence storyline.

A Kudoboard has been set up to capture positive sentiments. Please share your own post, and feel comfortable sharing the link with folks off campus who may want to share a parting word or photo.

We respectfully ask that you RSVP via this form so that we know who can attend.

Closing the Prayer Wall

Leave your mark, feed the wall, and let go of that thought until another day. Join the burning ceremony as the messages and prayers are released to the universe.

As this term and this remarkable academic year come to a close, what better time to let go of what’s been holding you back, to dream for what you hope will come to fruition, and to share gratitude for the ability to transition and share in the collective loss and growth.

The prayer wall in the Library and in the Esch Hurvis Center for Spiritual and Religious Life will be picked up on Friday, June 4.

The ceremony will start at the library and move to the Esch Hurvis Center for Spiritual and Religious Life where the prayers will be burned. Meet at the Library where the bricks of the prayer wall are located.
