Secrets of Career Success Series

Join the Career Center, faculty, alumni, and guest speakers this Fall as we pull back the curtain of career success! The September 30th kick off event, from 5 – 7 p.m. CDT, in the Warch Campus Center will begin with a welcome address by President Laurie Carter and then feature Ted Fleming, renowned author of Develop and Head of Talent Development at CVS Health, and Dr. Greta Raaen Dzieciaszek ‘05, who will guide you through building a network for career success. Watson Fellowship Info Session

Are you interested in learning about one of the coolest fellowships ever offered? That would be the Watson Fellowship. Join Brian Pertl, Dean of the Conservatory of Music, on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at 1pm CDT and hear how a winner receives $36,000 to carry out a one-year independent study of their own design outside the United States. Fulbright Group Presentation Session

Opportunity Knocks from the Career Center – LU is hiring a Conservatory Admissions Fellow

Are you a graduating senior who is passionate about the conservatory and interested in spending 11 months as an ambassador for Lawrence? If so, the Admissions Office is hiring a Conservatory Admissions Fellow to meet with prospective conservatory students, families and high schools. You would be contributing to the university goal of increasing applications for admission and continually recruiting and selecting students for admission to the conservatory of music who are most likely to thrive and succeed at Lawrence. Opportunity Knocks from the Career Center – Student Diversity in Conservation Internship

Lawrence is pleased to announce our first Student Diversity in Conservation Internship cohort for Summer 2021. This internship program has been designed to expose historically underrepresented students in the field of conservation to career opportunities and pathways in this area. Participants will have an opportunity to intern with a conservation organization and explore careers in natural resource conservation based on their unique interests. Students from historically underrepresented groups in the field of conservation are encouraged to apply.

Three students who are accepted into the cohort will receive a stipend of $5,000 each to complete a Summer 2021 internship at one of the host organizations (Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust, Pheasants Forever, Wisconsin Wetlands Association).

Opportunity Knocks from the Career Center – LU is hiring a Web Communications Fellow!

Lawrence University’s Office of Communications seeks a creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented individual to serve in the newly created Web Communications Fellow position. Working with members of the Communications and Web Development teams, as well as university-wide web stakeholders, this one-year position, which could be a great fit for a graduating senior, will be integral to the successful launch of the redesigned Lawrence University website. Do you want to make a difference in someone’s life as they seek a path forward from homelessness? Pillars in Appleton provides shelter, support, and solutions to address the housing needs in our community and has two internships available this summer: Shelter Case Mgr. Are you interested in learning, working, or researching outside the U.S., either as an undergraduate or after graduation? Join us on Tuesday, May 11 at 3:30 p.m. CDT to hear about several different opportunities, including the Gilman, Watson, and Fulbright Fellowships. Brian Pertl (Conservatory), Lezlie Weber (Study Abroad), and Claire Kervin (Fellowships Advising) will introduce several options, and LU students and alums will share their experiences and answer questions (Stephany Pichola ’21, Milou de Meij ’19, Koby Brown ’18, and Emilio Salvia ’17).
