The Povolny Fund for Excellence – Apply Now!

The Povolny Fund for Excellence honors the life and work of Mojmir Povolny, a long-time professor of Government and International Relations at Lawrence University. The Povolny Fund particularly wants to support student travel and other costs related to international experiences and we encourage students to plan ahead and apply here now.

Projects and programs vary, but can include support for internships and volunteer positions, and participation in seminars or conferences, study abroad, traveling classrooms (including D-term), film and arts festivals, and other activities. In the past, successful candidates have interned at the U. S. Embassy in Chile, volunteered with NGOs that conduct programs overseas, and did research relating to foreign investment in Africa.

Opportunity Knocks from the Career Center – Kohler Arts Center Internships

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center, a nationally acclaimed visual and performing arts complex in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, has several internships available for the summer: Community Arts, Marketing, Special Events, Education, and Web Store. The donors who created the funds know the value a Lawrentian’s uniquely nimble, creative, and wide-ranging intellect can have, and they want you to be able to share your talents with organizations that matter to you.

Opportunity Knocks from the Career Center – Scoville Peace Fellowship

Are you a senior and interested in working on international peace and security issues in Washington, DC? If so, consider applying for the The Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship, a highly-competitive, paid, national fellowship program that provides recent graduates with the opportunity to work on these issues with a participating think tank or advocacy group for six to nine months.
