What I Didn’t Say: A Journey Through Parkinson’s

Co-sponsored by the LU Pre-Health and the LU Theater Department, all are welcome to join us for a beautiful performance depicting what it is like to have Parkinson’s Disease and how those with Parkinson’s interact with medical professionals. Everyone will relate to this profoundly honest story about the staying power of true love.

After the 45-minute performance, the audience is invited to join in a conversation about how to strengthen all the relationships involved in a PD journey; refreshments will be provided.

Float & Watch

Sponsored by the LU Motion Picture Club and LU Swimming and Diving, all are welcome to watch Jaws from the Wellness Center pool! The movie will be projected on the wall near the diving well while students float and watch.

Floaties, gender-neutral saunas, and refreshments will be provided!

Lawrence University Wind Ensemble

The Lawrence University Wind Ensemble is proud to present our first concert of the Spring Term on Saturday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m.! Our program is entitled “Masterworks” and features a few cornerstone works in the wind ensemble repertoire.

We are excited to share the stage with bassist Vivian Shanley ’26! Vivian was the winner of the 2025 Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition. Vivian will be featured on Dana Wilson’s Concerto for Contrabass and Wind Ensemble.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
For nearly two decades, Grammy-nominated Kneebody has crafted its distinct genre, blending explosive rock energy with nuanced chamber ensemble playing. Their compositions, rich with improvisation, defy convention, guided by a unique cueing system. Emerging from the Eastman School of Music and CalArts in the vibrant LA music scene of 2001, the band’s collective leadership fosters innovation. Each member, a leader in their own right, has garnered individual acclaim while Kneebody’s reputation flourishes worldwide, drawing a dedicated fan base.

Wriston Art Galleries

An active scholar and instructor, Professor Gustavo Fares has taught in the Spanish Department at Lawrence since 2000, and he also has a vigorous visual art practice. He will discuss his current exhibition, Abstract-Organic, on view in the Wriston Art Galleries through May 17.

According to the artist, “The Abstract Organic series appeals to nature in the ways in which the works are made as well as in the images they present. The images are built around “indexical images,” that is, images constructed with the impression on the painting’s surface of real objects, which in this case are tree branches.

Wisconsin Esports Conference-State Tournament Watch Party

The Lawrence University Overwatch 2 team is advancing to the Wisconsin Esports Conference State LAN Tournament. The event is being held at Milwaukee School of Engineering on May 3 and 4.

We will be hosting a watch party for the championship regardless of whether Lawrence advances.
