Celebrating Linda Morgan-Clement

Linda Morgan-Clement, the inaugural Dean of Spiritual and Religious Life and Chaplain to the University, will be finishing her time at Lawrence July 1, 2023.

Linda has served the Lawrence Community in this capacity for the past seven years and in higher education for almost 30 years. She has brought her depth of wisdom, collaborative approach, intellect, and spiritual grounding to this role. Anyone who has worked with her knows that she has given her whole heart to her chaplaincy. We will miss her!

Spiritual and Religious Life invites you to take time to acknowledge a turning and the impact that this term has had on our community, our relationships, our knowledge, our dreams, and our souls. When we pause to see from multiple perspectives then it is possible to hold hard and joyful, growth and struggle, loneliness and community in the same space.

Spring Term Closing for all Lawrentians will take place at the Esch Hurvis Center for Spiritual and Religious Life (Spirit Space) and the Goldgarden (weather permitting) on June 2 from 4:30 to 5:15 PM. Summer adult songwriting class

Lawrence Community Music School – Room 14
Fee | $75

Experience the artistry of songwriting with Loren Dempster!

Songwriting is a transformative creative experience to express truths, emotions, perspectives, and personality through words and music. By taking some time and space to explore your creative voice, you will be able to write songs that will foster a deeper connection to yourself and the world around you.

In this 4-week summer session, we’ll work individually and collaboratively to write songs and make music. While it is not necessary, please consider bringing some kind of chordal instrument like a guitar or ukulele and a way to write lyrics. There will be keyboards on site that are available to us.
