LevelUP: A Networking and Mock Interview Event

Join Career Services on April 19 for a networking and dinner reception with members of the Lawrence University Alumni Association at 5 p.m., followed by mock interviews with LUAA members and professionals in different fields between 6 and 8 p.m. The event will take place in Alice G. Chapman, Second Floor.

Student mock interviews must be preregistered by calling Career Services at 920-832-6561 or by emailing careerservices@lawrence.edu. Interviews will be 15 minutes in length with 5 minutes allowed for feedback. Interview spots will fill, so please plan to register as soon as possible.

Drop-In hours with Career Services staff will also be available from 4 – 8 p.m. that evening. Students can get their resume polished or LinkedIn profile reviewed, in addition to signing up for a mock interview!

Public Health Scholarship Opportunity

Are you interested in pursuing careers related to the field of public health?  The Sara A. Quandt and Thomas A. Arcury Endowment for Experiential Learning and Research in Public Health will provide Lawrence students with unique and valuable opportunities to conduct research and immerse themselves in the field of public health. The fund will support a wide range of research and academic opportunities to include travel expenses, stipends for work or summer research, independent study or Senior Experience projects, books, supplies, or any other aspects that would broaden and provide in-depth understanding of public health.  Students selected shall exhibit the highest standards in their scholarly endeavors and plan to embark on serious work in close consultation and collaboration with faculty members who have expertise in topics related to important public health issues.

Individual awards can range from $500 to $4000.

Taize’ Continues at 5pm

Taize’s ecumenical Christian services will be at 5pm for the Spring term.  All are welcome.

Taize’ is a service, a movement, and a spiritual feeling that fills the senses.  It surrounds the participants in the warmth of candlelight, the sound of joy, the peace of silence, and the comfort of community.

Spotlight: Report Your Summer Internship, Grad School Acceptance or Full Time Employment

During Spring Term, Career Services will be celebrating student achievements with Spotlight! We want to recognize students who have secured a summer internship, graduate school acceptance or full-time employment by celebrating their achievements through posters around campus and online. We will also have an ice-cream giveaway at the end of term to celebrate your achievements!

Internship Funding Application Deadline

Lawrence Scholars in Civic Engagement (LSCE) is a program designed for students who are interested in exploring work in civic engagement, including: not-for-profit, education, social impact, cultural and political advocacy and the arts through an internship or volunteer opportunity. Students who have self-identified an internship or service project in civic engagement, are eligible to apply for financial support through the LSCE program. Check out the LSCE page to learn more.

Information Selecting your Housing for 2018-19

Students please come to any of the informational meeting about living in a group house or to any of the open office hours to learn about other types of housing options.

In order to select housing:

Step 1:      Make certain your nonrefundable housing deposit is paid by April 9. The deposit must be paid to Financial Services either in person or online.

 Step 2:      Advance register on-line in Voyager for your 2018-2019 classes.

 Step 3:      Be certain your student account is current and paid up-to-date.

 Step 4:      Pick up and sign your Housing Contract AFTER you complete Advance Registration of classes. Contracts are available at the Campus Life Office (4th floor Warch Campus Center) 8am-noon and 1-5pm until May 11th.

 Step 5:      Bring your signed Housing Contract with you on the specific housing selection date:  See the webpage https://www.lawrence.edu/students/housing/checklist or come to open office hours!

Micro-grants available for student sustainability projects

Now Accepting Applications for the Student Sustainability Fund!

The Student Sustainability Fund offers students competitive grants of up to $2,500 for sustainability focused projects that may consist of research, internships, volunteer or service projects, class projects, or student group initiatives. Any Lawrence student that will be enrolled during the term of their proposed project is eligible to apply.

Applications for Term III are due May 11, 2018 but will be considered at any time.
