This year’s Spring Break runs from March 20-30.

Past trips have included destinations like the Badlands, Great Smoky Mountains, Everglades, and more!

Cultural Expressions Talent Call

The Black Student Union invites you to join us for the annual Cultural Expressions Showcase! From poetry to dance, this event highlights the incredible talents of students.

If you’d like to be a part of an unforgettable performance, sign up today! Please note: this is a talent call, not an audition. Everyone who shows up for the talent call will be put in the show (no inappropriate acts and acts must be primarily Black/BIPOC performers and artists).

Cabaret Auditions

Cabaret will be hosted Saturday, April 5 & Sunday, April 6, with a rehearsal on Friday, April 4. This year’s theme is Adult Swim. Channel your inner child and feelings of wanting to escape the adult world.

Auditions are open to all students. Please note: The form requires you to upload a 30-second preview of your performance.

MC’s

Want to be the voice of Cabaret? Sign up to audition for MC!

The Master of Ceremonies (MC) is a crucial role in the Cabaret performance. The MC is expected to handle the audience, have a strong stage presence, and deliver lines clearly.

To audition, submit a 30-second video simulating how you would address the audience and introduce the show at the beginning of Cabaret.

Submissions are due by Thursday, Jan. 30!

A bus will leave from the Wriston Turnaround at 5:30 p.m. and will return to campus around 9:30 p.m.

All those who sign up will be sent forms from both Titletown and Lawrence to be collected upon boarding the bus.

Group Housing

The LUCC Residence Life Committee will hold informational sessions for the Lawrence community on group housing and the selection process. At least 2 group representatives must attend one of these sessions to apply for group housing, and at least one will be living in the group housing for the entirety of the application year.

Auditions for Fred Gaines Student Playwrights Series

The 7th Biennial Fred Gaines Student Playwrights Series features 3 one-act plays with 10 roles for actors!

Audition Requirements

  • 2 contrasting modern monologues, 3 minutes total
    • We will have pre-selected monologues for first-time auditioners.

Callbacks will continue on Wednesday, Jan. 8 and Thursday, Jan. 9 in Cloak Theatre.

Production Roles

There are openings for 6 assistant stage managers, a props person, and 2 stage crew members. Introduce yourself to our Production Stage Manager, David Ciotti Hernandez, to discuss available backstage opportunities.

Theatre Interest Meeting

On the first Monday of each term, the Department of Theatre Arts holds a general meeting for anyone interested in joining us for production opportunities. Learn about auditions for current productions, student projects, and employment options.

This is a great way to reconnect with friends, make new friends, and stay up-to-date with our full slate of opportunities.

At this meeting, you will also hear more about auditions for the 7th Biennial Fred Gaines Student Playwrights Series. We’ll produce 3 one-act plays written by your classmates.
