Winter Carnival

Winter Carnival is a part of the Lawrence tradition “LUgge,” which captures the essence of what it means to be a Lawrentian.

LUgge is inspired by a Danish and Norwegian word, Hygge (pronounced “hoo-ga”), which describes a feeling of coziness and contentment. It is associated with enjoying the simple things in life, such as spending time with one’s family and friends, relaxing in comfortable surroundings, and indulging in small pleasures like good food and drink.

Don’t miss out on the fun, food, free merch, and festivities!

Shot over the course of three years and featuring some of our nation’s top educational experts (Richard Kahlenberg, The Century Foundation; J.B. Schramm, College Summit; Dr. Bill Tierney, University of Southern California), the film explores the problem of college access faced by first generation and low-income students and how their success has major implications for the future of our nation.
