LUaroo ’23 On Campus Band Information

Get ready to jam with us!

  • March 8 – Application opens
  • April 7 – Application closes
  • April 15 – Tentative results
  • May 27-28 – LUaroo!

Selection Criteria

By applying, you are aware of the terms listed below:

  • We aim to have a diverse selection of music genres.
  • We prioritize bands over solo artists. (We still encourage solo artists to apply.)
  • We prioritize live musicians over tracks or pre-recorded content.
  • Stage presence impacts our decision. We encourage high-energy performers.
  • Submission order does not impact a selection decision.
  • Covers and originals are weighed equally in the selection process.
  • The decision is based off of a democratic voting process by members of the Band Booking Committee.

We understand the competitive nature of the audition process and recognize that not all applicants will be chosen to perform. Our selection process is focused on the flow of the festival and should not be seen as a “make or break” merit one time a year choice on the success of your group.

Final Faculty Navigate Training

There is one more Navigate system training Faculty can attend. (Four have already taken place.) With Navigate now being our premier Student Success Management System (replacing Sunstone), we want to make sure that all Faculty are familiar with its functions, features, and how it will support student success at Lawrence. During each training, faculty can expect to hear about Navigate and:

  • The alert referral process and submitting alerts for at-risk students and
  • Completing progress reports and ad-hoc reports
  • Accessing assigned advisees and students who are enrolled in your courses
  • Using email campaigns to nudge groups of students to complete an action
  • Forthcoming Navigate features like calendar syncing and the risk prediction model (Predictive Model) and much more!

Please feel free to direct any questions or concerns about Navigate or the trainings to Lewisash@lawrence.edu.
