United Way: Live United

Dear Staff and Faculty,

At Lawrence University we are committed to supporting our community through the work we do and the resources we share.

We know these times are difficult and challenging for everyone, especially now.  That is why I am asking you to take part in this year’s United Way Fox Cities employee giving campaign LIVE UNITED, but also understand if you are unable to do so.

United Way Fox Cities is grateful to the many Lawrence University employees who have generously contributed in the past. Your generosity has made a real and lasting difference to individuals and families right here in our own local community. They support basic needs to those who need them most.

Please watch the 2-minute campaign video. It is sure to leave you feeling good about the impact we can make off-campus.

If you didn’t give last year and give $26 this year ($1/per paycheck) you will be entered into a drawing for a Chevy Trailblazer! Donors who gave last year need to increase their total gift by $1 to qualify. Gifts of any size are always welcome.

Please email Stacy Mara with the amount you would like to donate per payroll period by Dec. 1. New pledges will begin Dec. 11 and run for 26 payrolls. You may also campus mail a check made out to United Way to Stacy Mara in Wilson House.

If you can, I invite you to join me in supporting United Way Fox Cities to inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow. As we give, advocate, or volunteer, we’ll increase our own sense of community.

Thank you for considering this opportunity as a way to support our local community and to LIVE UNITED.

Campus Fundraising Policy

Colleagues,

As we work to improve our policies and processes on campus, we have developed an On-Campus Fundraising Policy. Students, faculty, and staff must first get approval from their Cabinet leader or Dean of Students before approaching the Development Office for support. Please review the policy and work with your Cabinet leader. Once you have their support, you may fill out the applicable form. If faculty have questions, they may reach out to Amy Kester in the Development Office. Student and staff inquiries may be directed to me.

Thank you-

Stacy Mara

Giving Day Thank You!

Thank you so much for your support of this year’s Giving Day! The support of the on-campus community truly has an impact; whether you stopped by one of our campus events, took a ride in the Giving Day Cash Cab, participated in a challenge on Facebook, or made a donation, it is all important.

This year we broke Giving Day records by raising over $1.94 million from more than 3,100 donors. We are also so thrilled that we had over 320 faculty & staff donors and that the Class of 2020 was at the top of the leaderboard with 92 donors! It was amazing to see the on campus community show up in such a big way.

Most of the money raised on Giving Day supports the Lawrence Fund which is the steady beacon that shines its light on every corner of campus. Contributions to the Lawrence Fund support our students, faculty, and facilities. Gifts have an immediate impact on scholarships, athletics, Björklunden, the library, and beyond. Thank you again so much for your support.

6th Annual Lawrence Giving Day | Thursday, October 10

What is Giving Day?

Lawrence Giving Day is a one-day-only fundraising event encouraging you to support your favorite area of the college. The 6th Annual event is on Thursday, October 10, 2019. When you give a gift in any amount that is meaningful to you, our Game Changers will match it with a gift to the Lawrence Fund.

Giving Challenges

Gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar thanks to our generous Game Changers, doubling the impact of your gift for current students. But if you’re in the Classes of 2003-2023 and give up to $500, your gift will be matched with $500. Your $10, $25, $50 or $100 gift quickly becomes $510, $525, $550 or $600 to help our students. If you give more than $500, your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

** All matching gifts will be going to the Lawrence Fund**
