Spiritual and Religious Life

Category: Spiritual and Religious Life

Don’t Miss Lawrence’s Baccalaureate!

What: Time for seniors, their families, and members of their Lawrence supporters to gather and reflect on the class of 2022’s spiritual journey. Expect an interactive invitation to process your own experience, music (it IS Lawrence!), movement, and inspiration.  The Outstanding Teaching in Wisconsin Awards are a part of the service.

When: Saturday, June 11th, at 3:00 pm.

Where: Memorial Chapel or live stream

Who: Planned by a small, multi-faith group of seniors with Linda Morgan-Clement.  These folks have worked hard since January to reflect on the class’ collective journey and create a shared ritual to honor it and offer perspective and release.  This year our speaker is Professor Karen Carr.

Holy Week Observances

For our Christian community, the practices and observances of Holy Week offer a time for connection with family and faith community, retelling the central story of the faith, and reflection on a vision for a better world. The Appleton Christian communities provide many opportunities for friends, old and new, to connect.

Sustainable Spirituality Workbook = Better Spring Term

Sometimes it’s a challenge to get up and going when the break between terms has been a week too short.

Spring into this term by choosing ONE way to:

  • Connect deeply
  • Expand your awareness
  • Listen to your Heart
  • Recognize new life . . .

EVERYDAY.

Check out the Sustainable Spirituality workbook and spend an hour on the way to a better Spring Term.

Brighter Together Term Closing Ceremony

Winter Term Closing for all Lawrentians will take place in the Somerset Room on Friday, March 11th at 4:30 pm. and will close with a community walk to the Goldgarden to release our regrets, gratitude, and prayers for the term.

Spiritual and Religious Life invites you to take time to acknowledge a turning and the impact that this term has had on our community, our relationships, our knowledge, our dreams, and our souls.  When we pause to see from multiple perspectives then it is possible to hold hard and joyful, growth and struggle, loneliness and community in the same space.  We hope you will plan to resist isolation and be part of a shared experience.
