Whether you’re thinking about launching a product, starting a service, teaching music, going freelance, or becoming a consultant, this is your space to connect with fellow student entrepreneurs. No matter if your dream is a side hustle, a small business, or a big investment, we’ve got you!

Come for the pizza, stay for the inspiration! We’ll be shaping this Entrepreneurs’ Group together, so your voice matters!

Plus, hear from Kim Massey, regional director of WWBIC (Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation), on how they can help you turn your business dreams into reality. WWBIC works with individuals from all backgrounds to make dreams come true.

9th Annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration 2024

Monday, October 14 | 5:30-7 p.m.
Buchanan Kiewit Wellness Center

Join LUNA and the Lawrence community for the 9th Annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration. Our celebration is free and open for all ages to attend.

The program features:

  • An opening prayer from Myra Johnson, LUNA Chair
  • Speaker Benjamin Rieth, VP of Student Affairs, Enrollment, and Belonging at Bellin College
  • Performances from the Appleton Area School District
  • A Pow-Wow demonstration from members of the Oneida Nation

Doors open at 4 p.m. Food will be available for purchase from Taco Tones and other vendors.

Björklunden applications open for Winter and Spring Terms

Each weekend during the academic year, groups gather at Björklunden to explore and reflect on ideas, artistic expressions, and community issues. Topics are wide-ranging, and students have the opportunity for intensive inquiry and discussion with faculty members and among themselves in an informal, intimate setting.

The application window to spend a weekend at Björklunden during Winter & Spring Terms is open October 3-31.

Artist Talk & Fall Exhibitions Reception

Thursday, Oct. 10 | 4:30 p.m.
Wriston Auditorium

Join us for a talk by artist Christopher McNulty ’90 and a reception to celebrate the Fall 2024 exhibitions. Reception with refreshments to follow.

The Galleries are open during academic year exhibitions:

  • Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Saturday, 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Sunday, closed

Galleries are free, open to the public, and located in the Wriston Art Center.

Earn LU credit in December

Would you like to earn 3 units of Lawrence credit in two weeks?  Then check out the 2024 D-term courses and register by October 23!

D-term courses are two-week, intensive courses taught by Lawrence faculty not offered during the academic year. These 3-unit courses are offered during the first two weeks of December. There’s an array of fascinating options this year, but Wednesday, October 23 is the deadline for registration, so check it out soon!

LU Swim & Dive Team Tryouts

Learn about the swim & dive program and see if it’s something you’d like to try!

Anyone with prior acrobatics (cheer, dance, gymnastics) would be excellent divers. Anyone comfortable with swimming would have a great opportunity to challenge themselves to becoming better swimmers—a lifelong skill!
