Isabel Vogt from Brown University will be giving a lecture titled “Interpolation problems for curves.”

About Isabel Vogt

Isabel Vogt is an associate professor at Brown University. Her work is partially supported by NSF DMS-2200655 and by NSF CAREER Award DMS-2338345. She received her PhD in June 2019 from MIT, where she was a student of Bjorn Poonen and Joe Harris. During the 2019-2020 academic year, she was an NSF postdoc at Stanford University, working with Ravi Vakil. During the 2020-2021 academic year, she was an assistant professor at The University of Washington.

Her research is in the intersection of algebraic geometry and number theory, including the geometry of algebraic curves and rational and low degree points on varieties.

D&IC x Spirit Space will be collaborating to create a self-care workshop to help students de-stress and practice self-care before finals.

This will be a two-part event.

  • Part 1 will be set in Spirit House and provide skincare products, pastries, and tea.
  • Part 2 will be set in the D&IC and provide catering from Mai’s Deli, games, and simply socialize.

The Bastard’s Review No. 3 Release Party

Join Austin Segrest and other local artists for the release of the new issue of The Bastard’s Review (No. 3 “Townie” issue).

10th Annual SAAC Midwest Conference Giving Challenge

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has started their 10th Annual Midwest Conference Giving Challenge! (Formally known as the Canned Food Challenge) 

The goal for each institution in the Giving Challenge is to collect the most non-perishable food items and monetary donations to be donated to local food pantries, shelters, or similar organizations in the Fox Valley. 

Lawrence SAAC will be collecting donations from Oct. 30-Nov. 20.

Donations can be given to SAAC reps (see the list below) or dropped off at Alex Gym or the Wellness Center Pool (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.).
