Student Ambassador Program Nominations

The Lawrence University Student Ambassador Program (SAP) is looking to receive new membership for this upcoming year. Please help us nominate any student, not including departing seniors, who seek to promote Lawrence Pride and philanthropy with the purpose of making the lasting Lawrence experience better for past, present, and future Lawrentians. The Student Ambassador Program seeks to inform the student body of the impact personal donations have on their Lawrence experience, with the ultimate goal of helping students with their eventual transition into active alumni after graduation.

Please email nominations to Kate Allison at kathleen.a.allison@lawrence.edu and Kieran Laursen at kieran.e.laursen@lawrence.edu by March 16.

The purpose is to practice civil deliberation while promoting greater intergroup understanding and trust. We want to help participants begin to move beyond political orthodoxies in order to see ourselves

Connect to Courage: Keeping Our Veterans Alive

Last fall, a small group of Veterans and other individuals met to discuss the issue of Veteran Suicide.  The Department of Veteran Affairs determined that 22 Veterans commit suicide each day in this country.  Further, PTSD is an issue related not only to Veterans, but as you know to many of our Firefighters and Law Enforcement.  A documentary film entitled “Project 22” was released in 2015, with the goal of bringing national attention to this issue. Link to the trailer is: https://vimeo.com/121737934

Wisconsin and the Fox Cities are not immune to this problem. A small group has worked together collaboratively to create an event called Connect to Courage: Keeping Our Veterans Alive.  The event will take place on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 1:30-8:30 at the PAC.  This event is for Veterans, their families and ANYONE who works with or cares about our Veterans.

Thank you for your support.
