Gateway Welcome Arch: You can’t miss the amazing work happening on the corner of College Ave. and Drew St! Watch this project daily as the progress happens that fast!

Drew St. Pedestrian Bridge: The framing is being installed in preparation for pouring the concrete. Everything is on track for this project!

Brokaw Hall: The new window install on floors 3 & 4 is near completion. The basement renovation design is underway and will be an ongoing project for a few months yet.

Resident Halls: Some of the resident halls will be receiving new furniture for their public spaces this week.

As always – safety first! Do not enter construction areas! Please be mindful of your surroundings at all times as construction is in full swing. Gateway Welcome Arch: it’s well underway! The stonework has begun for the sign structure.

Drew Street Pedestrian Bridge: the structural girders have been set – at an impressive 137,000 pounds each!

Warch Campus Center: the existing flooring is removed and leveling for the new flooring is underway.

Kohler Hall: the work is on track with the new windows and basement renovation

Main Hall: Asbestos removal is happening this week and the bathroom remodels are on track.

LU Riverside Trail: paving is complete! Next up – trail lights and access gates.

Kohler Hall: work continues on the window install and basement renovation.

Music Drama: the ceilings have been removed and currently the demo of the old HVAC systems is underway.

Warch Campus Center: work has begun on the 2nd floor removing of existing flooring, which will be replaced with terrazzo.

Drew St. Pedestrian Bridge: work continues as the foundational structures are installed.

Located at Facility Services, 235 E. Water Street (please note: the LU Trail will be closed)

Tuesday, June 28,  8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

No bids accepted after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28

Winners will be notified by Wednesday, June 29.

*Payment due on day of pick up (exact cash or check made out to Lawrence University)

All bikes must be picked up by Thursday, June 30 no later than 3 PM

All unclaimed bikes will be awarded to the next highest bidder

All bikes are sold “AS IS”

Important Campus Construction & Project Updates

Facilities was able to restore power to Colman and Brokaw Hall at 10:00 PM Tuesday evening. Shout out to that team for staying late and making it happen!

Safety first! Do not enter construction areas! Please be mindful of your surroundings at all times as most construction and projects have begun.

Construction is well under way at Kohler Hall. The lower level is currently being demoed to lay new piping and the window replacement has begun.

Demo of the lower level in Music Drama has also begun for new flooring and HVAC system.

Thank you for you cooperation and patience as we make these many upgrades to our beautiful campus!

Construction update: Power out June 13-14 for Colman and Brokaw

Important announcements as construction and projects are underway!

Reminder: Power will be out for Colman and Brokaw Halls June 13th & 14th as work continues on the Drew Street Bridge

We appreciate your flexibility and cooperation as construction begins full swing next week! Lots of exciting (and not so exciting behind the scenes) changes to come! Please be aware of your surroundings at all times as your safety is priority! There will be construction happening at some point in and around most of the buildings. Watch for updates weekly:

Kohler Hall – The cranes will be moving in Monday to begin work on the new windows

Music Drama – basement demo begins Tuesday for new flooring, along with preparation for a new HVAC system

Res Life renovations kick off on Tuesday

*Please note, the Chapman and Music Drama parking lots will be closed for construction equipment

Campus Projects & Construction Updates

The Bee Shed is just about complete and its residents should be moving in any day now!

“The new pollinator education center next to SLUG will serve as an open community space, where anyone can come learn about beekeeping and managing landscapes for pollinators. We will be planting the area with native flowering species and providing habitat for both native bees and honeybees. There will be an observation hive open to the public and lesson plans available for students of all ages,” according to Israel Del Toro, assistant professor of biology.

Also, work is currently under way in the Greenhouse, which will be sporting a new HVAC system when the work is complete.

Campus Projects & Construction Updates

There are many construction projects happening on campus this spring and into the summer. Facilities will keep you up to date on what’s happening with weekly LU Insider posts.

Drew Street Pedestrian Bridge

  • Drew Street to close May 31 through September for the new bridge construction. Please note – power will be shut off June 13 & 14 affecting buildings on the west side of the bridge as demo begins.

Bee Shed

  • The foundation is poured and the frame is up! Israel Del Toro will be utilizing the Bee Shed to introduce a new bee species and boost our local bee population.

Music-Drama Center

  • Music-Drama will be receiving a new HVAC system for better zoned temperature control, along with updated ceiling tiles.

Warch Campus Center

  • 2nd floor flooring will be replaced with terrazzo. Watch for a new elevator later this year!

Ormsby Hall

  • Many behind the scenes upgrades are planned.

Athletic Fields

  • New track is coming soon!

Kohler Hall

  • New windows throughout with Boldt completing renovations.

Brokaw Hall

  • New windows will be installed on the 3rd and 4th floors and mechanical updates.

Quad 2

  • The carpet is being replaced with LVT in the 1st floor public space along with many other improvements.
