Mudd Library Summer Coffeehouses

It’s time, once again, for our annual Mudd Library Summer Coffeehouse Series! This series provides an opportunity to socialize and learn about resources and services available to help you with work or leisure interests. This summer, we’re excited to announce two awesome guest presenters from the Lawrence faculty.

Coffeehouses start promptly at 10 a.m. and finish around 10:50 a.m. All members of the Lawrence community are welcome to attend (no registration required). We’ll be gathering in front of the library and will provide beverages and a snack.

Schedule for Summer 2023

June 28: Silly Horn Stuff
When you think of a horn, what musical instrument comes to mind? Ann Ellsworth, Assistant Professor of Music: Horn at the Lawrence University Conservatory will be here to demonstrate what horns are and what they can do in the right hands…er…lips. Professor Ellsworth will be joined by a worthy opponent/assistant. Join in the frolic and expect the unexpected.

July 12: Summer Reads
The ever-popular Summer Reading coffeehouse returns! Planning your beach reading? Got your own summer reading underway? Come and hear about favorite reads from library staff and whoever else shows up. It could—and should—be you!

August 2: No Mow May and You
Have you heard about No Mow May in Appleton, but are not really sure what it is or why it’s a thing? Are you a participant but would like to learn more about how you can help pollinators? Join us as our special guest, Israel Del Toro, Assistant Professor of Biology, helps us learn more about the No Mow May movement, and how we can each make a difference in our environment.

Take a look at our coffeehouse guide to learn more!

Orange background with green grass on the bottom with white and green text for a summer feel that reads, "2023 Mudd Library Summer Coffeehouse series, June 28, July 12, August 2, all at 10 am at the plaza in front of the library."

We look forward to seeing you there!

Baccalaureate is a long-standing traditional part of the commencement weekend. In Lawrence style, it is a thoughtful, creative, diverse expression of a complex journey that you have been part of, influenced, and made possible. You really don’t want to miss it.
