Come together for Welcome Arch reveal today; President’s Welcome on Tuesday

The Welcome Arch, a gorgeous landmark that will serve as a visible entryway to the Lawrence campus, is ready for its debut.

The campus community is invited to join in celebration as we reveal the arch for the first time — the Welcome Arch Reveal is today from 4 to 4:30 p.m. at the corner of College Avenue and Drew Street.

Next week, all students, staff, and faculty are also encouraged to greet the Class of 2026 at the arch. The Welcome Arch Ribbon Cutting and President’s Welcome is Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. We will again meet at the Welcome Arch at the corner of College Avenue and Drew Street where the Class of 2026 will be the first to process through the arch as they launch their Lawrence journeys. Following this new tradition, we will formally celebrate these new students with our annual President’s Welcome from the steps of Main Hall.

First-year students will be moving in on Monday, followed by a full week of orientation. Find details here.
