Checking The Box – Spiritual and Religious Reservations

Using the Reservation System?  Ever notice that box?  The one that says
“Event enhances spiritual and religious life”

The Office of Spiritual and Religious Life encourages the campus community to be aware of the many places where spirituality and choice intersect.

When you are making a reservation in the LU system, selecting this box can be a way to indicate that your program, meeting, class, or event could be characterized in this way.

Whether it is in Sabin House, Warch Center, the Diversity and Intercultural Center, or anywhere on campus, ask yourself if your room reservation enhances spiritual and religious life. If the answer is yes, then click the box.

By clicking the box, you’re also communicating via the SRL webpage under Programs & Events the details of your event.  Spirituality and/or religion takes many forms and those choices are available for all.

*The second floor Group Room lets creative thought flow.
*The Meditation room is a great place to get centered, release tension.
*The Community Room usually has a place to sit or an open piano to play.

Lawrence Fund and United Way

Thank you to the 196 of you who supported Lawrence students on Giving Day! We are grateful for your contributions. The day wouldn’t happen without all of you!

We now invite you to join in supporting both Lawrence students and the United Way. If you haven’t already and would like to make a gift to Lawrence, United Way, or both, please complete the pledge form and return it via campus mail or email to the Development Office in Brokaw Hall. We would greatly appreciate your support of both campaigns by Monday, November 26.

Thank you for considering these giving options as a way to support our students and community. Should you have any questions about either opportunity, please don’t hesitate to contact Stacy Mara.

Drop-in Lunch w/ Anne Jones

Join us on November 13th from 12:00-1:00pm in Chapman Hall, room 202 – bring your own lunch and come chat with Anne Jones, Interim Director of the Center for Career, Life, and Community Engagement (CLC). This is an informal event, come and go as you please.

Anne will talk about the work that has been done to transition from Career Services to the CLC, and take questions from those in attendance! This is an informal event to get to know one of our campus leaders. You can also use this time to stop across the hall from our meeting room and check out the changes to the CLC space in person.
