Staff Chili Cook-Off

Lawrence University Staff Council is excited to bring back a campus tradition, the Staff Chili Cook-Off on Wednesday, March 8, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Somerset Room (WCC). All faculty and staff are invited to join in the tasting and voting for the best chili. Help us crown a new LU winner!

Staff members, this is your moment to show off your favorite chili recipe! Sign up here to bring chili and compete for the coveted Golden Crock Pot Trophy and bragging rights! Email Cole Hepburn with any questions.

Jingle & Mingle Staff Event – 12/8

Staff Council invites all Lawrence staff to our December Jingle & Mingle event on Thursday, December 8, from 4-6 p.m. in the Viking Room!

Complimentary snacks and warm winter beverages will be provided, and the bar will be open too in case you want to upgrade that winter drink or enjoy another selection the Viking Room has to offer. 

The wearing of festive attire or your favorite ugly holiday sweater is encouraged!

Staff invited for coffee and pastries

All staff are invited to kick off the new academic year in delicious style – with coffee and pastries provided by Staff Council.

Stop by Thursday, September 29, from 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the Harper-Shattuck Lobby in the Conservatory. Grab a coffee and your favorite sweet treat to go or stay and meet old colleagues and greet new ones!

All-Staff Meeting set for Sept. 22 in Warch Cinema

A reminder that the first of the 2022-23 All-Staff Meetings is set for next Thursday. Please save this one and the others on your calendars:

  • Thursday, September 22, 1:00-2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 3, 1:00-2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, February 16, 2:30-4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 1, 1:00-2:30 p.m.

Also note a change in location from a previous announcement. The Sept. 22 meeting will be held in Warch Cinema. The location for the rest of the schedule will be announced at a later date.

The All-Staff Meetings are organized and moderated by Lawrence University’s Staff Council (formerly Staff Governance). All Staff meetings will also be accessible via Zoom. Reminders and Zoom details will be distributed via email prior to meetings.

The All-Staff Meetings are organized and moderated by Lawrence University’s Staff Council (formerly Staff Governance). All Staff meetings will be held in Wriston Auditorium and will be accessible via Zoom. Reminders and Zoom details will be distributed via email prior to meetings.

Spring Term All Staff Meeting May 18

The Spring Term All Staff meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, from 9-10:30 a.m. via Zoom. Go to the Staff Governance Upcoming Events page for Zoom details. A Zoom recording and a copy of the meeting minutes will be posted to the Staff Governance webpage after the event.

Have any questions, comments, or recommendations for the agenda? You can email them directly to staff_governance@lawrence.edu or use our anonymous online submission form. If you submitted questions or comments before the Winter Term All Staff Meeting that were not addressed, please note that we have those questions saved and will try to address them at the May meeting.

Additionally, for those interested, we will also be opening our monthly Staff Governance Committee meeting (May 26 at 9 a.m.) to cover any questions/comments that we do not have time for on May 18. Details for connecting to that meeting will follow.

Submit Questions for All-Staff Meeting

Have a question for the President or Cabinet? Submit them via our anonymous Questions form by February 9, and tune in to our All-Staff meeting on February 16 from 9-10:30 a.m. to hear the answers.

Please note that we are changing this term’s meeting format from a webinar to meeting, so those who log on will need to be mindful that their camera and mic may be turned on.

Submit Questions for Winter Term All-Staff Meeting

We are still collecting questions ahead of the Winter Term All-Staff Meeting, which is scheduled to be held virtually February 16 from 9-10:30 a.m. If you have a question for the President or Cabinet or a general topic you would like to see addressed, please let us know by filling out our All-Staff Meeting Questions form. This form is completely anonymous.
