Think That Elk’s Had Enough?
Some may argue that Tycho Brahe wasn’t such a colorful guy: Danish astronomer (but there were probably many of those), nose cut off in a sword fight and replaced by a silver and gold prosthetic (things happen), possibly poisoned by his assistant (certainly had the means and the opportunity). But did you know he had a clairvoyant dwarf jester and a beer-swilling elk? (either of which would be an excellent name for a rock group)
An article in the November 30th New York Times suggests a feature film may be in order. Read Murder! Intrigue! Astronomers? And, of course, the Mudd has scads of books about Tycho.

- You can use FindIt to discover what e-journals are available through the library’s full-text databases.
- We’re glad you’re back. Let us know how we can help.

Summer in the Mudd
I hope you’ve been over to the library and noticed some of the fancy news screens developed by our fabulous circulation staff. If not — or even if you have, and you want to relive the magic — here’s a Flickr slideshow of some of our greatest hits…
Public Art resource guide
If you attended the recent Summer Seminar on Public Art: Process and History — or even if you’re just interested in the topic — your friends at the Mudd have developed a handy Public Art resource guide.
Lots of useful links to images, public art resources, books, and articles.
More canine fun
Another fun-filled Canine Therapy event occurred on Monday, June 7 at the Mudd. Seven dogs and several dozen students bonded, romped, and relaxed during Finals week at Lawrence.
One happy student: “I love this event! Love it! Love it! Love it!”
One happy dog: “Woof!”
