Study in Seoul, South Korea

Off-Campus Programs is excited to announce its newest program collaboration in Seoul, South Korea! Through our partnership with IES Abroad, students will now be able to participate in a semester-length or academic-year program in one of East Asia’s most exciting capitals.

On the Seoul, South Korea, program students will directly enroll at Yonsei University, one the country’s leading institutions. There they can choose from a large selection of English-taught courses in the Liberal Arts, as well as business, science, and more. In addition to these options, interested students will also have the chance to learn Korean language, take area studies classes, and immerse themselves in the Korean culture.

Vote for your favorite Off-Campus Program photos!

Stop by the Seeley G. Mudd Library and help us choose the winners of this year’s Off-Campus Programs Photo Contest! Photos submitted to our contest reflect either the “people,” “place,” or “spirit of the experience” of each student’s program. The entire Lawrence community is invited to stop by, enjoy the photos, and vote for their three favorites.

The photo exhibition is located on the first floor of the library and will remain on display until Friday, April 21. We’ll announce the winners of the contest in early May!

Off-Campus Programs Scholarship Deadline April 19

The deadline to submit an application for the Off-Campus Programs Scholarship has been extended until April 19.

If you plan on studying off-campus in 2023-2024, you may be eligible for an Off-Campus Programs Scholarship. To apply, go to the Off-Campus Programs Scholarship Application and complete the form by April 19.

Applications for Spring 2024 French program in Senegal due April 1

No fooling! Off-Campus Programs has extended its deadline for accepting applications to the Francophone Seminar in Dakar, Senegal program until April 1, 2023. You can apply now by opening our online application and logging in with your Lawrence credentials.

The Dakar, Senegal program is a French-immersion program open to all majors. The only prerequisite is that students have successfully completed French 202 (or have the equivalent knowledge of the language) by the time the program starts. Students who apply now and are accepted prior to completing French 202 will be accepted conditionally until language requirements are met. Students travel with French Department faculty for this program.

Dakar, Senegal is a thriving city on the Atlantic coast of West Central Africa. As a student on this program, you will fully immerse yourself in this vibrant Afro-Francophone culture while living with a host family and taking classes in Dakar.

So what are you waiting for? Come experience the joy of Senegalese culture, music, art, dance, and more while at the same time improving your French and expanding your worldview.

Off-Campus Program Applications Due January 25

There is still time to apply! If you are planning on studying abroad or on a domestic off-campus program during the next academic year (2023-2024), applications are due January 25, 2023. This deadline is for all affiliated programs.

Applications for the London Centre and Francophone Seminar in Dakar, Senegal are due March 1, 2023.

Jingle & Mingle Staff Event – 12/8

Staff Council invites all Lawrence staff to our December Jingle & Mingle event on Thursday, December 8, from 4-6 p.m. in the Viking Room!

Complimentary snacks and warm winter beverages will be provided, and the bar will be open too in case you want to upgrade that winter drink or enjoy another selection the Viking Room has to offer. 

The wearing of festive attire or your favorite ugly holiday sweater is encouraged!

Applications for 2023-24 off-campus programs are now open! And, to help you learn about your options, we’ve invited representatives for over 30 programs to visit campus next week. They will be visiting classes, tabling outside the Commons, hosting information sessions, and more!
