The IES Milan – Music: Voice, Composition, and Instrumental program offers an opportunity to create your own program, combining musical instruction, beginning and intermediate language study, area-studies courses taught in English, as well as internship possibilities.

International Education Week Starts Monday

Next week, we are celebrating International Education Week. Look for special programming, Instagram takeovers and Q&As, fun international-themed menu items, and more!

Off-Campus Programs Fair Oct. 4-8

The Off-Campus Programs Fair is next week! Join us October 4-8 for five days filled with informative programming, including live tabling events, in-person information sessions, and virtual Zoom sessions.

Our general Study Abroad 101 on Tuesday evening will feature a student panel discussing study abroad during Covid. Additional programs will cover topics such as language learning abroad, studying music abroad, and the application process and funding.

Program spotlights will include our new Arts and Social Change in the Czech Republic, SEA Semester, Costa Rica, Madagascar, Greece, and more!

Additionally, we will welcome several program providers to campus to talk about their offerings, including IES, with programs in Europe, Asia, South America, and New Zealand; ISA, with programs in Italy, Spain, and Argentina; Japan Study, and College Year in Athens.

Off-Campus Programs are up and running!

Did you know that Off-Campus Programs are running this year? Lawrence has around 45 students who are currently studying abroad or taking advantage of off-campus domestic opportunities. And, this could be you next year!

If you are interested in applying to participate on an off-campus program in 2022-2023, start now to avoid deadline stress! Applications are now open. Japan Study and Oxford applications are due November 8, most other program applications are due February 1, and London Centre applications are due March 1.

To be eligible for off-campus study, you must be a sophomore, junior, or senior in good standing at the time of travel.

London Centre and Senegal Application Deadline Extended to March 14

Wishing you could study abroad at the London Centre next year or participate in the Francophone Seminar in Dakar Senegal during Spring Term 2022? You still can! Off-Campus Programs has extended the application deadline for both of these programs until end-of-day March 14, 2021.

London Centre Summer 2021 Term Announced

The Lawrence University London Centre is pleased to announce that it will be offering a Summer Term 2021 session! Any students interested in this unique opportunity are encouraged to apply. Applications are due by March 21, 2021.

The London Centre summer session will consist of a six-week term running from mid-June to early-August. Students will take three classes (British Life and Culture, London: A City Shaped by Migration, and Diversity on the London Stage) for a total of 15 units in credit. No pre-requisites are required for these classes and they satisfy a range of general education and elective credit requirements. Music lessons and independent study options may also be available.

This is an exciting opportunity for any student interested in study abroad!

Thriving Abroad Being Uniquely You: Diversity and Study Abroad

On Tuesday, February 23, Off-Campus Programs and IES Abroad will host a virtual workshop on Thriving Abroad Being Uniquely You: Diversity and Study Abroad, featuring Gretchen Cook-Anderson, Assistant Vice President of Diversity Recruiting and Advising for IES Abroad.

All students are welcome to attend.

Join us to learn more about the interplay of diversity, social identity, and study abroad. Learn about identity across cultures, intersectionality abroad, social justice, social change, global equity, and you!

London Centre to Welcome Visiting Professor Adam Galambos in Spring Term 2022

The Lawrence University London Centre is pleased to welcome Adam Galambos as its visiting professor in Spring Term 2022. Adam Galambos is the Dwight and Marjorie Peterson Professor of Innovation and Associate Professor of Economics.

Professor Galambos will be offering two courses during his term at the London Centre: Markets of London and Socialism and Capitalism in Britain, Past and Present. These courses are open to any student and will be offered in addition to existing London Centre classes, including Urban Anthropology of London; Shakespeare in London; Impact of Empire on Great Britain, 1815-1914; and more!

If you are interested in applying to the London Centre, applications are now open for Fall Term 2021, Winter Term 2022, and Spring Term 2022. Applications are due March 1, 2021.

Off-Campus Programs Application Deadline Extended to Feb. 1

Off-Campus Programs has extended its deadline for affiliated program applications until Monday, February 1. If you are applying to study off campus this summer or next academic year with an affiliated program, please complete your application by end of day February 1.
